LEAD IN DRINKING WATER TEST
Older homes may have lead
piping. Newer homes may have lead in fittings or
solder joints. It is impossible to see, smell, or
taste lead. Up until the 1950's lead pipe was
used as the supply line from the water main to
the house, and in many areas may still be in use.
High lead levels in drinking
water can cause serious damage to the brain and the
nervous system particularly in young children.
Lab results: ten to 20 days.
To remove lead from the
drinking water a reverse osmosis water filtration
system will need to be installed.
Boiling the water will not remove lead from
drinking water.
