VALLEY
to VOLTAGE
Valley - The internal
angle formed by the intersection of two sloping
roof planes.
Vapor Barrier - Plastic
sheeting used to stop the passage of moisture.
Vent -
Any outlet for air that protrudes through the
roof deck such as a pipe or stack. Any device
installed on the roof, gable or suffer for the
purpose of ventilating the underside of the roof
deck.
Vent sleeve -see collar.
Voltage - Most
electrical accessories in the home use 110 volts.
Voltage is like horsepower, it is electricity's
strength. Large appliances (such as stoves,
electric clothes dryers, central air conditioners
and hot tubs) use the larger 220 volts.
